In the first games of the day for the Jersey Softball Associations Corefocus Summer League the Jacksons Phoenix lined up against the division 1 leviathans, Dominion Niners. Whilst Phoenix started with confidence, there was little room for manoeuvre, and in spite of a good mix of base hits and outfield drives, the Niners were able to halt the Jacksons teams progress round the bases. In the field, Phoenix showed determination and were providing good coverage, but were unable to withstand the Niners clever placement batting. Great performances from Alex Kilpatrick, with Micky Gosselin, Fionnuala Cope, Chelsey Warner, Cameron Ramsay and Jason Boschat each taking important catches. Niners went 2 wins for 2 meetings, but some positives for the Jacksons team to take away. Final score Dominion Niners 39–6 Jacksons Phoenix.
At the same time, the Tigers took on division 2 rivals, Corefocus Cubs. Both teams batted well and had some strong fieling moments but the Corefocus Cubs remained dominant throughout the game, pulling away with the lead. Final score Corefocus Cubs 38-5 Tigers.
The dms Jersey Flyers took yet another resounding win this weekend over division two rivals, Jacksons Eagles. The Flyers, changing their fielding positions every innings, continuously chipped away at the Eagles armour, scoring an incredible 22 runs in just one innings. There were some excellent plays from both teams, however the dms Jersey Flyers Players of the Match were awarded to Phil Bouchard and Jackie Davies. Final score dms Jersey Flyers 38–12 Jacksons Eagles
Falcons had a somewhat shaky start in their match against the CPA Global Pirates this Sunday. With the Pirates taking the first inning 7 runs to 0, the Falcons matched the opposition 1 run a piece in the second innings, before finally finding their groove in the 3rd. With solid base hitting from throughout the ranks sealing the deal, some noteworthy fielding performances came from Ric Pedro, Sam Lempriere and Laura Poingdestre for the Falcons squad.
