CorefocusX Summer Softball League Opens with Big Hits, Bright Talent, and High-Scoring Thrillers

The CorefocusX Summer League got off to an exciting start last weekend with five matchups lighting up the diamond. Sponsored by CorefocusX, the opening weekend showcased a blend of established dominance, promising new talent, and high-scoring battles across the board.

Ferryspeed Falcons 16 – 7 Jacksons Phoenix

In a friendly yet competitive season opener, the Falcons showed composure and grit, overcoming injuries to hold off a spirited Phoenix side. Both teams traded home runs and big hits, but it was the Falcons’ resilient defence that proved decisive, keeping Phoenix at bay.

Marwyn Jersey Royals 11 – 1 Atom Pirates

The Royals carried their strong form from the Jersey Firstball Tournament into league play with a clinical performance. After holding the Pirates scoreless through three innings, a brief spark came via a solo home run from Matt Satchell. However, the Royals remained composed, with 16-year-old third baseman Noah Benander putting on a defensive masterclass to shut down any comeback hopes.

CorefocusX Cubs 16 – 36 Henderson Green Giants

The Giants came out swinging in a high-octane clash against the Cubs. Both sides brought strong bats, but the Giants' relentless offense ultimately overwhelmed the Cubs. The Giants capitalised on consistent hitting to pull away with a commanding win.

AutoExpress Tigerz 17 – 33 Eagles

In one of the day’s most entertaining games, the developing Tigerz side pushed the Eagles in a fast-paced, high-scoring contest. The Tigerz impressed with aggressive base running and standout defensive moments, including two crucial catches at second base. Eagles’ Caitlyn Hennessy led the charge with several big hits to swing momentum, but the Tigerz’ promising improvement stood out despite the loss.

Pitcher & Le Quesne Titans 6 – 28 Base Invaders

In a clash of debutants, the Base Invaders made a strong first impression with a dominant win over the Titans. Both teams showed offensive promise, but the Invaders’ consistency at the plate saw them surge ahead. A solid all-around team effort marked a confident start to their league campaign.
