Jersey Softball Association Awarded Grant to Help Grow the Sport Locally

The Jersey Softball Association is delighted to announce that it has received a grant of £8,840, supported by the Jersey Community Foundation with funds from the Channel Islands Lottery, to support the development and growth of softball in the island.

The funding will be used across several key areas, including youth development, adult development, expansion of the corporate league, and the advancement of local umpiring through the hosting of official BASU training and certification days for local umpires.

Much of this development will cover key costs for running the sport such as the purchase of new kit across youth, corporate and adult development, as well as pitch fees for youth and adult development. These are necessary overhead costs for developing players and will make the sport more accessible to those looking to try it out for the first time.

Robin Tadier, President of the Jersey Softball Association, said:

"It’s amazing to receive this funding,  it’s going to make such a difference. It will allow us to continue developing and growing softball in Jersey at all levels, from youth players to adults, corporate teams and umpires. The impact this support will have on our ability to build the sport and increase participation locally is enormous, and we’re incredibly grateful."

This funding marks an exciting step forward in the Association’s commitment to making softball more accessible and sustainable across the island.
