"I started playing softball at 16 after being introduced to it through friends. I’d played rounders before, but softball was a new challenge. I loved the adrenaline and how welcoming and friendly everyone was from the start."
2. Can you share a moment on or off the field where you really felt part of the softball community?
"One moment that stood out was during a tough tournament, despite not getting the best results, the team spirit and support were amazing. It reminded me how much of a family the softball community is."
3. How has being part of a team impacted your life outside of the game?
"Being part of a team has really boosted my confidence. I used to be quite shy, but softball has helped me come out of my shell. It’s made a big difference in my life, and I’m grateful to be part of such a supportive group."
4. What would you say to someone who’s never played before and might be nervous to give it a go?
"It’s normal to feel nervous, but everyone starts somewhere. With a supportive team around you, it’s easy to pick it up. Softball is competitive, but also social and fun, it’s definitely worth trying."
5. What do you love most about softball?
"Softball has helped me grow as a person and improved my mental health. I’ve built great friendships and love being part of a team. I’ve also had the chance to represent Jersey, which I’m really proud of, and I hope to do it again."
