Jacksons Eagles 15 v 33 Jacksons Phoenix
31st May 2015
A game very much of two halves when Jacksons Phoenix took on sister team Jacksons Eagles this Sunday. Phoenix getting off to a shaky start both at bat and on the field. In contrast, Jacksons Eagles came out of the starting blocks with a maturity and game knowledge that belied the inexperience in their ranks (this game being only their 4th as a team). Selina Bideau scoring the first of 6 runs in the first inning which closed with Eagles leading Phoenix 6 runs to 1.
With Eagles showing they meant business, Jacksons Phoenix regrouped and doubled their efforts, with an improved showing in the second closing the gap, Phoenix gathered momentum throughout the match.
Cameron Ramsay for Phoenix had the best day at bat, scoring three home runs and bringing home one other runner, with home runs also coming from Chantelle Cunningham and Jake O'Toole (each scoring one) and Robin Tadier (lending his talents from Jacksons Falcons) scoring a Grand Slam at bat and providing an excellent turn as relief pitcher for the hard hitting Phoenix squad.
Eagles, showing improvement with each game, looked equally menacing at their turn in the batters box, and in spite of much improved fielding from their sister team were placing their hits well throughout their line up, with both Jordan de la Perrelle and Stuart Emmanuel (both in their first season of the Sport) scoring home runs for the Eagles.
Positive performances all round from the Eagles fielders too, with Leah Cunningham again looking commanding at Short Stop, and taking a catch millimetres from the ground.
For Phoenix, having recovered from their early stage fright, some stellar fielding link-ups came from Alex Kilpatrick, Ramsay and Tadier (respectively at Pitch) and Jason Boschat, with Boschat taking a double play in the 4th to close out the innings.
Final score after 5 innings (Ball Game) Jacksons Phoenix 32 - Jacksons Eagles 15
MVP for Eagles were Selina Bideau and Stuart Emmanuel. For Phoenix Cam Bo and Chaz Cunningham took the plaudits.

Jacksons Eagles 0 v 33 DMS Jersey Flyers
17th May 2015
Game 2 of the Jacksons Eagles inaugural season saw them take on the experienced Jersey DMS Flyers side who are favourites for the division 2 title this year. The experience gap between the two sides was visible from the outset however the 33-0 score line did not reflect some of the excellent defensive plays made by the Eagles; with notable performances from Barry Chandler at second and Lisa Godinho at Right Centre.
An off day for the Eagles batters was compounded by a poor start to the game by pitcher Rem Floris however the Eagles kept their heads up throughout and managed to enjoy the game nonetheless.
This learning experience will no doubt be invaluable for the Eagles who will be determined to improve upon the result when the sides meet again later in the season.

Tigers 10 v 12 Jacksons Eagles
10th May 2015 In the first game of their inaugural season a fresh faced Eagles team took to the field to face a new-look Tigers team. Eagles started well, reaping the benefits of their pre-season training regime and scored their first run before shutting out the Tigers offense in the bottom of the first. Tigers hit back with some great batting and by the top of 4 had opened up a 5-1 lead. Eagles rallied in the fifth, scoring 4 runs including a home run from Jordan De La Perelle and an excellent triple from Tom Menard. The 6th was another strong innings for the Eagles and saw them into the 7th leading by 11 runs to 6. Tigers did not lay down and finished strongly scoring 4 runs before a final ‘glove-tipped’ catch by Short-stop Leah Cunningham which brought the game to a victorious end for the Eagles. A close, keenly fought contest between the two sides suggests this will be a great rivalry for their remainder of the season. Eagles players-players were Tom Menard and Leah Cunningham.
