The Thunder team has been playing softball since 1995/1996, although under a variety of names and team colours. Starting two separate teams, Clintons Los Huevos and playing in Black and the Greensocks playing in Green until new sponsorship and merger of teams around 1999 resulted in a Scotiabank Storm team wearing a Blue uniform. Another sponsorship change in 2007 saw the team renamed Optiums Storm and the team colour change to Grey. In 2009 the team almost folded until an influx of new players resulted in the team being resurrected as the Thunder.

The team have met with some success over the years resulting in 2nd division titles in 1999 and 2001, 1st division titles in 2006 and 2007, the Channel Island Recreational title in 2001 and the Channel Islands Championship in 2006.
