Eleven I.S.S. Flyers play game number 225 - posted 06.06.2010
Sunday 6th June 2010 marks the 225th league match for the Eleven I.S.S. Flyers. The current team contains just one player from the original team, captain Garry Le Maistre. Also, still in the team is Sarah Cann, who is missing this year working on team development for 2025, as she is expecting her second child later this year, congratulations Sarah.
Flyers was one of the original teams which began the league back in 1994. The others were; Eagles, Misfits, Homeboys, Caesarean Tennis Club, St Ouen Grisventres. None of these other teams have lasted the 17 seasons it has taken the Flyers to reach this landmark. An incredible feat and all credit must go to Garry who has been instrumental in keeping this team alive which has produced many island players throughout the years.
It was very much the old versus the new for Flyers 225th game as they took on the HSBC Devils, newcomers to the JSA Softball League. Here's to the next 225.
Congratulations from all at the Jersey Softball Association.
